Update from Suburban Acid Saturation

On August 25, 2011, in Gigs, Recording, Studio, by Christian

It’s all been a bit quite on the SAS front recently. Life has been getting in the way, and I have had to withdraw a little from a number of things and have been rather lacking in time…

I almost considered knocking the whole SAS project on the head indefinitely to concentrate solely on my photography.  Managing all the equipment was becoming a bit of a drag,  gigs are too much hard work, and recording is taking up quite a lot of time.

The project was not really getting me where I wanted to be, and for various reaons I have moved house, and trying to set up a new studio – in a very limited space. But I love Suburban Acid Saturation…

So, the first thing I have decided is to downsize the live equipment. Yes, Suburban Acid Saturation might end up using a laptop… I am not fully sure how I will arrange this so far, but I have some ideas. I know the Freebass and the Microkorg will stay for their real-time knob-twiddling loveliness, but I think some of the other bits of kit will be moving to loops. There is NO point any more lugging nearly 20 kilos of sampler around as a drum machine however nice it sounds!

Call it a sell out, or an epiphany as you wish, depending on your viewpoint. But it is time…
